CHILDREN’S SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Confirmation/First Eucharist recognizes parents as the primary catechist of their children. St. Theresa Parish assists the parents in fulfilling their responsibilities through parent/child sacrament classes offered through Religious Education. Children in second grade receive the sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Children in third grade receive Confirmation/First Eucharist, and children in fourth grade through high school are eligible for Confirmation if they have not received this sacrament. Qualifications for enrollment in Sacramental Preparation include:

     ●     Families must be a registered, active and contributing member of St. Theresa Parish.

     ●     Your child must have successfully completed one year of religious education the year prior to receiving a sacrament, and be currently enrolled in a religious education program at St. Theresa or attending Catholic school.

     ●     Your child must have a Catholic baptismal certificate on file in the Parish Religious Education office.

     ●     You must attend the required parent/child meetings, retreats and rehearsals.
